Search engine optimization and search engine marketing can be a confusing concept to grasp. Is there even a difference between them? Social media, for better or worse, is a part of 21st-century culture and it’s has been deeply ingrained in the daily lives, experiences and viewpoints of Americans of all ages. Millennials and new generations don’t know a world without Instagram, Facebook and Google. Intersecting daily with social media networks it’s simply their reality. Social media connects users across the world, allowing them to share ideas, thoughts, and content. While the dangers of social media are prominent in teachings to youth, the entire spectrum of what exactly is dangerous may not be covered. Students are warned of the consequences of posting scandalous photos or inappropriate comments. However, there are other important concerns to take into consideration when it comes to social media communication. One of these important social issues is the fact that many people are getting badly influenced by “fake news”. As a result of this concerning trend, some social networks are taking action. Now, Facebook is letting its users flag news stories as fake or a hoax and working with fact checkers to vet them, it is the first effort to address fake news since the United States election. Facebook stated on Dec. 15 that it is taking steps to weed out “the worst of the worst” fake news from its platform. So, be responsible, get educated and don’t believe everything you read in social media platforms. Always check with reliable sources first before sharing any news.
Google does not call soliciting business Many local businesses have received phone calls from “Google” to talk about SEO. What these people may not know is that it probably is NOT Google calling them. There are many unethical companies cold calling local companies pretending to be Google. BE AWARE! 99.9% of the time those calls are from phone spammers cold calling to solicit your business. Google does not place robocalls. Google does not call to “update your front page listing” or ask you to “claim your free website.” Google does not charge for inclusion in Google Search or Google My Business. Their tactic is to scare businesses into believing that they have problems with Their SEO, SEM, local listings, or related. It is very unlikely that it is actually Google these people are receiving a call from. Google will rarely call businesses, with the exception of those who request a call which is most often related Google AdWords users for CPC campaigns. So, if you receive a call from someone who claims to be Google, be aware that it is far more likely that this is actually someone misrepresenting themselves. These callers may call to “update your local listing, improve your SEO, fix errors your web may have” or even tell you to “claim your free website”. The 41st Stuart Boat Show was held January 9th – 11th and was a great success for the city, the Marine industry and Xperience’s clients. This event has become one of the most important marine industry shows on the Treasure Cost and South Florida. With more than 180 exhibitors and 19k visitors, this fantastic boat show features a huge selection of boats, cruisers and yachts just to name a few on display in-water and on land.
